With over 20 years teaching & performing experience, Alexe's background in movement started during early childhood where she danced from the time she could walk. In her late teens, a serious knee injury threatened to curtail her dream of becoming a professional dancer. However, after undergoing years of extensive physiotherapy she discovered a new discipline in pole dance and in early 2000 become one of the UK's first pole dance instructors.
Alexe always felt her future was not destined to follow a conventional career path following a diagnosis of dyslexia as a child and now she had seen a benefit and value in a style of movement which had previously been overlooked and even mocked. Fuelled by ambition and compelled to realise her vision, it was inevitable when she co-founded one of London's first pole dancing, Anti-Gravity Yoga and alternative fitness school London Dance Academy in 2005.
Initially by establishing numerous partnerships with gyms across London, LDA succeeded in bringing pole dance into the mainstream. By 2012, Alexe & Melissa Gray had opened LDA’s own studios – becoming one of London's biggest alternative dance schools with over 50 staff and 200 classes a week. Alexe’s intuition had proven correct as she found herself spending her days coaching thousands of women.
A true force of nature, Alexe not only worked towards building up the dance school but by night, was involved in the alternative music scene organising gigs, festivals & club nights. Already with a degree in Music Business and Management and her own promotion agency in the music industry, Alexe had become a proficient businesswoman in her own right.
Alexe has dedicated her professional life to building women's confidence. From working with brands such as Stella McCartney, Adidas, Nike, Samsung to having made several TV appearances - all to promote empowering new fitness routes for women.
Becoming a mother in 2017 allowed for a much needed change in lifestyle and pace. She packed up her life and moved to a small rural village in France with her now husband and baby daughter.
This fresh perspective, especially in becoming a new mother, inspired Alexe to look inwards and she began to practice daily meditation, Restorative Yoga, Nidra and contemplate the impact of different choices we make on our personal energy.
From here, Alexe began to explore the relationship between the female cycle, the lunar cycle and seek connections within astrology and the Chakras. She began to cultivate a practice to optimise movement and insights based on a 28 day cycle. The system she later developed has been crafted drawing from her expertise in movement, the Chakras and as a qualified yoga instructor.
Routine dynamics and Universal movement is borne out of the desire to support women in achieving a sustainable wellbeing routine. These are not just basic physical goals but also encompass a rich holistic content to nourish the spiritual & emotional self. It enables women to align to their own natural rhythms and synchronise with the Lunar phases and learn from the astrological narrative of the solar system.
Alexe is committed to establishing an accessible space for women, encouraging us to awaken ourselves, value expectance, explore our potential, manifest our purpose with a method that is already written in the stars.
Alexe’s practice is dedicated to her daughter Sophia (“the light in my life”) and her husband Xavier (“my rock”).
Love & gratitude Alexe. ✨
